Well i got bored and thought i would share a little hike with you for the hell of it. It started out with me not deciding to go until 11pm the night before, then organizing rides, packing, and trying to sleep. Well its hard to get a ride when you can't drive (to young) and your mom doesn't feel like waking up at 6 to drive you to the base of a mountain. Finally fell asleep at 2ish and woke up a 6 with more energy than ive had in awhile

We finally reached the trailhead at 8:15 (friends slept in) and started off our trip with the solid 2 km hike straight up winding our way into the bowl of Fisher Peak. Any of the locals that have hiked it, which im sure is most know that the first 1 hour or so is probably the toughest part until the end. Made me realize that being young doesn't mean you are in great shape :D .

Well we then had lunch at the basin where the bench is located, great spot to relax and take nap on the way down by the way :D After enjoying a short lunch we continued on to climb up the saddle which i thought was the second hardest part of the climb. Its full of scree and shale which makes for a slippery steep climb. When you hit the top of the saddle though it is so rewarding as it opens up instantly in between a rock spire and the ridge to the top. The view is exposed after one short step where you are faced by a big snow slide and the rest of the Rocky Mountains.

From there you continue to scramble and scale up some rocks until you finally wind your way through the rocky face and hit the summit. The view from there is incredible as you can see 2 provinces and the USA. People who climb from this site im sure can agree how worth it is to make the top and sit up there for an hour or so.

Claiming it :D

Enjoying the view as i have missed the mountains for awhile.

From there we made are way down the mountain and had a small nap where we took lunch on the way up. Fortunately it was clear (a little smokey it seemed) and only a slight breeze at the summit. Hell of a way to spend a day when you live so close, unfortunately a lot of kids around here don't appreciate it. I think it took 5 hours to get to the summit ( with lots of breaks and pictures) and 4 to climb down (with a nap and tons of breaks)

For whoever has time around here and hasn't climbed Fisher Peak i definetely suggest it as it is great place to go and tons of good views. Unfortunately we seen 3 other groups ( very popular climb as it the highest peak in the Southern part of the Rockies) which were good to BS with and provided a sense of security for my 2 worried, scared of heights friends :D

I am hoping to get up there before summer is over ....but I honestly dont think I am in good enough shape to do it this year :( Might have to wait till next year .. lol
