Bushnell elite 1500(????) Rangefinder with ARC

few differant boots but I always seem to come back to my old issue Tac boots.

My Fave peice of gear would have to be my release (Carter Hunter) I have had it for 8 years now ... replaced the springs and the sear on it and I love it ... other than my backup release and my boots it is the oldest kit I have for bow hunting

Me too Mike. I have the "Flech hunter" and had it since 1993 and never done anything to it except adjust the trigger.
I feel naked without it on my wrist when I'm out there.

My (almost final rig is):

APA King Cobra (27.5" dl) at 70#
Victory V3 340 arrows at 26.5" and 100 grain Montecs - total weight of 380grains. Velocity at 321 fps with my stubby arms, but the Montecs plane all over the place at anything over 305 fps. I will be switching to PX2s or 2" Meat Seekers.
G5 sight
Ripcord Code Rest rest
No Stabilizer
44 Caliper release
Kwikee quiver (for now)

Only had the bow a month but like it more than my Axe 6 which will become my 3D bow, and the rest of the stuff one year so I haven't really developed any favorites. My boots are the oldest gear I have, Browning Nomads in extra extra wide.

Cheers

ok pictures ... now that my rig is totally ready to go ... for bear in a few short days ... for Goat a bit later ... for moose and deer in two weeks ... and for late season elk :)

a 70 yard group on an old tiny 3D deer quartering away hard taken last night at "the Tackdriver"s house while fooling around with his and "PG3006"s set up
http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/Photo0079.jpg

Not that I would normally shoot a tiny deer(QCI sized) at 70 but it was fun ... they might be a tad low .. but I dialed the sight for 67 yards .. I am happy with a group like that with a hunting setup

I went with an Alpine softloc 3 arrow quiver ..... I am gonna send it to Cobra imaging after the season is done to Dip it into Snow camo ... as a riser mount quiver would have a hard time fitting around the HHA 5519 dial

sorry for the poor photos ... they are phone photos

You've got a fantastic machine there, and looks like you're well dialed in, now it's up to Mother Nature to give you a good shot. (Last year she toyed with me, I was able to get close to quite a few bucks, but She never allowing me a ethical shot.

Trad:
"Stewart" longbow shooting 57lbs at 28", shooting Gold Tip carbons with the wood grain finish, tipped with 100 gr Magnus two blade broadheads.

Compound:
Diamond Black Ice 70lbs, Trophy Ridge sight and rest, Octane 2 piece quiver, 400 gr Darkhorse studs, Broadheads TBD as I'm going to pick up some Muzzy MX3s, Slick Tricks, and a mechanical I haven't decided on; at some point today.
My favourite piece of kit would have to be the TruBall Short 'n' Sweet release. I was introduced to them by Ambush a year or so ago, and was instantly impressed.

Here you go Mr BowWalker, I just used a camo string, thicker decoy string will work, I used a tree stand pull up string. I like the camo but people can find the specific colors of string or cord, maybe to match their bow string color? Its a simple square knot braid, if you wanna give it a try... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j29JWFp_sO8

Nice. There are a few people over on AT selling custom made bow slings just like that one.

Maybe there is a money-making hobby in it for you?

TheProvider
08-13-2011, 08:29 AM
Well maybe as a hobby, easy enough to do specially if you could find a place selling bulk cord in a variety of colors. The market is getting bigger for people wanting to customize the colors of their rigs. Specially girls with thier "pink"

Well BW if you are talking about mine then you should try it again now that it has been properly tuned! It is very smooth, shoots sweet and is super quiet. Even a hacker like me can group 3 inches at 60 yards so a pro like you should be deadly!

Oh and my favourite piece of kit? The Kowa Genesis 10.5x44 binoculars.

Sweet Rig !!!! ;)

LOL, yeah it's not bad. I tried some different broadheads today, and the NAP spitfires got the nod for this season. I was dropping them on target consistently out to 40 yards. They didn't open prior to impact, and flew well. Looking forward to seeing how they do on game.
