Yes, it was on CBC as well. They said there has been an "explosion" in the wolf population and that ranchers have been asking for this for some time now. Anyone want to place bets on how long before the "Save the Wolves" posters go up on Vancouver bus stops?

Why didn't the ministry just change the regs and let the hunters and ranchers find it in the regulations ? Or did someone in the ministry with an anti hunting bent leak it to the media? The regs change yearly, or now every 2 years - maybe that is why it was announced, because we are in the middle of the 2 year regulations, and they wanted wolves open immediately. It probably won't make much difference anyway. The ranchers probably shot on sight and practiced the triple S method and it was probably rare for hunters to get more than 3 wolves in a year . Time will tell, unless the media and antis stir up a frenzy and the government backs down. You can bet Adrian Dick will be against it.
