what do you suggest?

I'm going up north by fort nelson Aug 20 to Sept 4 for elk and I've never hunted that early for them or in this area. a few questions that i hope some of you guys can answer. 1) Will they still be in velvet at that time? 2) do the elk respond to buggles and cow calls?

elk will be in the last bit of velvet, you will here some bugles but they will not come into bugles as a rule, hike up high and you will have good luck...DD
