I'm pretty sure,it ran like a Whitetail and had a big bushy white tail sticking straight up in the air.

Talk of elk down here, and there's whitetail as far in as Herrling Island that I know of. Deer move around lots, and humans don't seem to bother them too much so I'd believe it. It could be blacktail, but a whitetail deer is a bit larger too. LR

I saw a White-tailed in my back yard in Langley last month. Definite ID, as it was with an obvious Black tail, and I got a good long look, but no photos. Different tails, different ears, even different hair colour. I saw 2 White-tailed in the same area about 5 years ago. They don't stick around, I think they are just passing through, maybe looking for new territory.
definitely Blacktail,,they run with the tail up like the WT, the latest studies also say that the BT are more closely related to WT then previously thought.

I live in the area. If you want to see the Black tails up close. Go park right beside the golden ears bridge on ramp on lougheed, before you drive under the bridge heading west, there is a big grassy field with some tree's.
They live in there, I see them almost everyday along with a big family of coyotes.
I'll try and take a picture or some video of them. It's fun to just sit there and watch them do there own thing.

Would not surprise me the way the WT can range out into new areas.

Sorry. I don't buy it. Most people see a blacktail with its tail up and we have another whitetail sighting.
