Here's a bobcat with his (her?) trophy. Caught the mouse as I watched from up the road! I was just lucky to have my camera ready. First time I have seen a bobcat for more than a split second. This one walked right up and sat in front of me! Must have been pretty proud of it's catch.

great picture!

how close were you to the kitty?

Just on the other side of the logging road (about 4 meters), sitting by my truck lacing up my boots.

Thanks everybody! It was just up near an area I'm doing Forestry work near Nelson. Here's another one after he dropped the vole...

Great photos! Always pays to bring the camera to work. Wish I had of had mine yesterday. Had a lynx sitting at the POC of our cruise.

Bobcats aren't very afraid of humans, back home in Otario there's tons and they rarely run when they see you. Most the times I've seen them in a truck I've came to a complete stop and they just stand there watching you and eventually walk away slowly. Watched one last fall for a few mins as he just sat out in the sun 20yrds away. Beautiful creatures

There does seem to be a law of nature that you see the coolest stuff when there's no camera handy.

Awesome. Great shot. I fell asleep last fall trying to ambush a deer and was woken up by a cougar. We had a stare down for 5 minutes and he even laid down for a while about 30 ft from me. My camera was in the truck and I kick myself for not bringing it. I think about it all the time. Great shot with the mouse, just like a house cat.

Cool pics and good referance photo for what a bobcat face should look like!

Funny how cats are, most of the time they're incredably elusive and the next one will wander walk right up to you and check you out.

That bobcat mount in the first pic is terrible and TOTALLY not "life like". It's face looks funny.

The mouse looks scrawny and it's facial expression was really not caught very well by the taxidermist at all; it should have more of a surprised look on it's face. More like this...to "capture" the reality of the situation.

Ha ha, good one. More likely it was just a bad "photoshop" job!
