100 feet up this road from where the grouse is where the Griz came onto this road from the left the way I am filming the grouse ,I was coming toward where the grouse is at 5.15am you can see how thick the sides are.

This was where the Griz come out onto this road about 100 yards down 15 min latter I stayed the night on this spur road :icon_frow.

That's awesome wayner good stuff, your ready freddy. Those elk and deer are running right now seeing you coming back there for 2011/12.
What elevation are you at there in that spot? Is it winter or summer range?

Jel where the trail cams are they are at around the 4,500 foot elevation and it is not a wintering ground for the elk or deer they pill out of this area in late Dec.

4500 ft. is a nice elevation to hunt. I guess they move in there during the rut from higher up the mountains?
Start to get vocal in six weeks or so end of August.
Lots of fun up there too lol.

LOL Jel that is exactly what I called this camp last year the skull camp LOL I will be taking in 2 more skulls to add to the camp and yes you are close with your guess on elevation it is 4500 feet where my camp is......

Jel I forgot my battery charger so I could not put the tables together ,I have 12 feet of table counter to put together when I head back in tomorrow ,can't wait to get back into the camp...

the nights and early mornings here in NE BC are pretty cool, again this morning at 6am it is +1 Celsius , many guys are getting skunked for moose so far, the butcher said when I was in hanging my bull moose from Aug 25, that this year so far is very slow for moose in the cooler, a chat with my local CO from Dawson Creek says he has only seen and checked tags on 3 successful moose hunters so far this Aug, most years he says he has checked 50+ by this time of the season,, says he cant even find one for the freezer so far,
I think I may head up 7-49 for few days ,hunt elk, it has been relatively cool here this summer,,

just bored, I can find my elk within 5 km of my home/computer,, took pictures of him for the HBC photo Gallery a few days back, but I need some different SCENERY,Road Trip,burn some Gasoline. pollute the air, once I get a bull moose early in the season, my KILLER INSTINCT takes over my being,,,,,:twisted:

Hey Doug, I know of 8 or 9 guys that have gotten theres in the first few days this year, still seeing tons of moose, seen 3 bulls this am, and found 2 fresh kills from last night, and this is all in a small area bout 25 min from town. as for the wolves, holly crap where are they all coming from.

Like most of us, I really enjoy your videos and pictures, "Hunter1947". One thing that I'm wondering about though as I watch your videos of your camp set-up. Do you have any problems with bears prowling around looking for a free meal, especially considering how long you have been set up in the same place? If not, what are you doing to discourage their visits? Many of the areas I'm going to spend my retirement time in during the spring and fall are not compatible for truck campers or trailers, so it'll be tent camps similar to yours. I've done a lot of short term tenting, keeping food smells away from my tent, but not many 'permanent' camps.

Yes I do have problems with blacks and grizzlies sometimes I chase them away with air horns and shooting above them with my shotgun it is real scary in there by myself at times ,I also have bear spray and an I spot if I need it..

Philcott yes you got it right its nice to have the young ones in at my camp learning what hunting and everything else that goes with it ,I even took a day off of hunting to look after them well dad when for a hunt with his buddy ,it was fun looking after them two girls we got into my truck went out and checked my trail cams and did some road hunting ,they are great girls and have learned lots about hunting from dad and mom..
