View Full Version : Getting a pup choc lab/GWP

So I am finally at a place in my life where I can get a dog.I have always liked labs and also have been intrigued by GWP's .
When I found out a breeder that offers both breeds had a "kennel accident" and the Choc lab stud got at the GWP girl and now they have pups I immediatly wanted one.I get him this saturday, he looks like an xtra hairy choc lab with a goatee , cant wait. Both Parents are good bird dogs so i am hoping that if do my part in the training he will turn out to be good also.I believe there are still pups available if someone is interested in this mix.

I shot over a dog from 69-80 same story a reg. Lab and a reg. GSP both were top firld lines. He was prettymuch lab BUT and it was 1 of those BUTS you couldnt put your finger on. bit diffrent coat and tail maybe longer ears hard to say just something. However he was probably one of the best alround and smartest gundogs I have ever shot over both upland and water fowl. Hunted to 13 and lived to 17. GREAT DOG and I have been accused of being a "purebred pureist"

Well try as I might, I can't post a picture. I am getting a full sister to your pup looking forward to meeting her Sat. afternoon. Good luck with yours. I am around Harrision Bay most weekends, your going to have to come up with your pup and let them get reaquainted

worst case scinerio it wont point OR retrieve LOL...Just kidding, the female is a sweet little thing they shoud do right by BOTh you guys good luck, HAVE FUN

Makes me jealous . Sounds like it would be a great combo. and I bet u got a deal on em too. i love labs , but the GWP's sound like they are great versatile gun dogs . Hmmmm . honestly i'm so busy wouldn't be fair to a high energy dog... but hmmm .
