Just wondering who's trying a different way of hunting this fall? Archery? Rifles? Big Bores? Blackpowder?

I myself haven't used a rifle for hunting in over 6yrs... well minus a .22 for grouse. Been all blackpowder, absolutely love it but have decided to pick up a bow again. Its been about 4-5yrs since I've bowhunted last. Looking forward to fill my second bear tag with it and if I'm lucky maybe a BT tag or two. The muzzleloader will definately come out for some BT hunts.

Anyone else trying something new or going back to a method you used too?

I use my slingshot or just a good ol stoning for the grouse, and well bigger game depends on the range i guess. I would like to implement the African Tiger Pit!

I put razor sharp points on the front of my cowboy boots so to take a deer sized wild animal this fall by jumping up and kicking really fast at the target.
Kinda like a kick boxer and I also have special gloves made up with sharp stainless steel spikes about an inch long for holding on and for slashing back and forth.

When I first took up bow hunting in the late '90's I put my rifle away for 12 years. I have only taken the gun out for a bear hunt twice since then. It's been bow hunting only for me.

So I guess if I were to dust off the rifle, I'd be trying something new?

I will be using my new to me Husky 9.3X57 on all my hunts this year.

I'd say it counts, I think I'll be the same with a bow, muzzleloader might get a lil dusty

I would like to try my traditional recurve bow on deer this year. Provided I get the operation done before the hunting season to free a pinched nerve between two neck vertebrates. As of now my right arm is absolutely useless. If that is not possible it will practicing rifle shooting with one arm. :)

This year will be my first try with my recurve bow. Looking forward to this new challenge. Might try to spear a bear or another cougar if things work out.

I hope to build a few tree stands in my favorite cut block, so that will be new. Also looking to try my hand at rattling in a big old moose, and/or a nice mule deer later in the fall.

Why not get a shooting stick and make your rifle a lot more stable? Or, put a tri-pod on your gun?

Spearing isn't a legal method of hunting in BC, though I have thought about it after sneaking up to a sleeping bear.

I am picking up the bow again this year, but approaching it a little differently. Sold the hi-tech compound. Bought a recurve. I want to go back to the way it was when I was a kid, just starting out, still fun, no excess baggage.

I am going to try and get a goat with my crossbow this year.
One year I took my great grandfathers winchester model 1885 in 38/55 hunting and took a nice bear as a change of pace, I might give that a shot again.

I'm actually going to ride a horse this year! I usually don't have any interest in them walk'n glue sticks but I sure might make the trip a little more enjoyable this time.

Surprisingly it is. Would never do it myself or suggest anyone else does it, but if they want to... the law is on their side.

I always use shooting stick for my rifle and crossbow, even when my arm was good. But I might try a mounted bipod on the rifle, or as you suggest a tripod , provided my arm can't be fixed in time for hunting season. It gets tiresome doing everything with one arm. :)

Spears are 100% legal in BC

It appears your right. I was sure they weren't listed as approved hunting methods but no such list exists, except for those limiting usage of common equipment. I might of found a solution to those semi-tame deer that raid my garden.

My dad and I play a game called grouse diving it works really well on spruce of course and we mostly play it in the afternoon after lunch before we take to are spots in the evening.

you simply drive around until you spot a covey empty your pockets and sneak up on them until you think you can grab them, normally diving around in thick brush and stump piles listening for the peep peep

its a laugh.

I'm going to listen to Classic Vinyl instead of Classic Rewind on XM Satelitte Radio when road hunting this year.

I'm going to let an animal consume me whole. Then I'll plant a stick of lit TNT inside the animal and escape Ace Ventura style.

only new way I can think of.
