Bear destroyed my feeder and trail cam. fml

So me and my partner set up our feeder and trail cams in our area to see what what kicking around. to our shock, we showed up there yesterday to find that a bear had climbed about 18 feet into a tree and swatted off the motor and even put teeth marks in the varmint gaurd! he also swatted my buddys trail cam off the tree, but not after it caught him climbing up the tree with the feeder. he also bit a hole through the lens of the cam

we are going to make a security box for the next camera, but does anyone have any ideas on how to bear proof a hanging feeder? has this happened to anyone before?

Maybe string it in the air between two trees?

Try placing the feeder on an overhanging branch a number of feet out if you can and you shouldn't have any more problems. I had problems with bears chewing on my camera before I bought a bear box. Now that I got one there's not much they can do.
