antlerless elk draw 4-08, sept 1-30. please help

Hi guys, me and my partner have been lucky enough to be drawn for this hunt. I did looked at the maps and from what i can see most of the lands in that MU under the 1200 meters seems to be private. We are preparing very hard for the hunt and do not want to waste this rare opportunity as we have been waiting for this hunt for years. Is there much crown land in that area or is permission from land owners the only way to go, and also if someone knows if there is a good population of elk there.Any information would be greatly appreciated and we will also share our experience.
