Our entire group from Vancouver Island got shut out for all species this year. Thought we'd try for a spike bull in 7-24, but want to go where there is a good population of deer as well. Any deer in 7-24? Used to hunt the Salmon River just south of 7-24 years ago, and never saw deer in that area.

Ive spent a LOT of time in 7-24, and I can count on 1 finger how many deer I've seen there :)

If you were looking to try for a deer there, I wouldn't waste my time.

Hmmm............whitetail buck missed by Darcy last year, was with a doe. Seen 2 does at the sawdust drop off 2 years ago off the salmon. Seen whitetail down the 1500 rd a bunch of does with a buck. Seen a whitie at the 2-3 km marker on the North |fraser. I would buy a deer tag for both species, it would suck not to have one and see a legal deer. Not exactly deer country, but they are there. I would buy an elk tag too!! But that's me. Moosin

you would shoot and elk in 7-24 before seeing a legal deer. now that being said they are there just waiting to be found by the man who puts in the time not gas

almost no chance to find a legal buck ,even embush and walk seeking!zone 24 is not a deer country!

I woke 3 does out of their beds last year down by the river, and one elk, but it's rough walking and no roads down there.

Thanks for the info. Will look elsewhere to find an area that has deer and the occasional moose. We have seven guys in our group that have not had a moose tag in 3 years and should have all been in the enhanced category. No tags in spite of that. Strange. Twelve more months before the next draw. Bummer.

I woke 3 does out of their beds, and one elk last year, all down by the river. Rough walking and no roads down there though. I saw one doe beside the road last spring.

Take a look at 7-21....only a couple hours further north....way more liberal gos....your chances of a successful hunt probably quadruple!!! IMO
