My buddy drew Bison in the Liard area. And he invited me to go!!!

He said I'm the only guy he trusts to hunt in the deep winter conditions that he's expecting. Isn't that nice!

If anyone has any advice that they want to share, I'd really appreciate it and would pass it along.

Thanks!

I drew A as well. Have you figured out where your staying up there yet? Is this your first bison hunt? I went with a guy who drew a tag in 2007. Its an amazing hunt.

i havent done any planning yet but im going with a few friends that have gotten the draw before, so im kinda goin with the theory that whenever we get together to do the planning they will have some ideas of where to stay and such. You got it figured out already?

I went the first year they had the draw, by snowmobile, across the river, very cold, and lots of fun. Stayed at Pink mountian in a cabin back then $25 per night or somethin silly like that as it was off season but we had to book early, like right now would be a good time to be checking into it.

we're going to start planning soon I think. Neither of us own sleds so I think we may rent. Any tips/hints on good outfits to rent from?

We're also looking for advice on where to stay.

You got block heaters in the truck? and somewhere to plug into ,, syn.., oil in the mortar , dont start sweating ,, that will chill you quick,,, good head gear ,,, breeze is bad , carefull on the sled on creek crossing might be cold but the ice might be thin , the weather does what it wants , and can go up and down quick , and foxton aint bulling about 72- been there done that ,, !!!

Is the Bison hunt a free range hunt? Like a spot and stalk like deer or elk? Or are they a ranch only hunt?
For some reason I always thought it was shooting them on a farm/ranch.
