I'd wait for him to get on a less precarious position. :)

Looks like theres no food or water for him so he's gonna move for sure and it looks like daylight is sticking around for a little longer so I would do the same and shot him with the camera for now and shot him with the gun later.

And those are some of the rarest horns I have seen so ya, I'd wait for a good shot later. :)

My rendition would be similar to Gandalf in the first of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, only instead of a wizards staff I'd have a 275 A-Frame @ 2600.

I'd holler out "You shall not pass!!", and then drill that ol' rock bridge with the 338, busting it into pieces.

Then I'd stroll to the bottom and collect my booner ram/goat/domestic sheep hybrid.

Easy.

No if it is a long drop too much chance of breaking rack. wait until animal is on better ground.

I would wait for him to move to a better position somewhere else cause you have no idea of what that bullet is going to do when it comes out the other side. Is there someone on the lake, houses on the other side or a highway ??? Always know your background before you shoot.

I'd get Gatehouse to go herd him off that rock then put the lead in the air. He's a genius with sheep...one might even call him a sheep whisperer.

Me and my buddy already got him. The 303 worked just fine. Just get someone who shoots a Ruger to pack him out! ah ha ha

I definately would not take the shot. I'd wait till it was on firmer ground first.

In my Sheep Hunt'n days I'd a belly crawled above that guy, hammer two rounds through it's heart, then in a few leaps and bounds I'd be down below that Sheep and place Fir and Spruce Bough's on the ground to cushion the horns from the rocks! Only looks like 3 or 4 thousand vertical feet to the bottom, so a good man would have time to light a bit of a fire, put the coffee on and get ready to cook up a mess of Sheep Ribs to boot!!!

Climb down and scrape him up.

My clever plan is this... I'd shoot at the rock first. It would scare the bejeezuz out of him and he would jump off to a better position. Then, I'd anchor him in a more safely retrievable spot.

after the shot he'll 'cool' fast.

I'm surprised. only 1 person said that is not a safe shot. I wouldn't take the shot, sky lined - no idea of where the bullet will go or who / what may be there when it arrives and really a poor chance of recovery. Doesn't fall into my personal code of ethics. That's the way i see it.

There's a lake, and then a mountain if the bullet could travel that far. Short of having a solid back stop, it's about as safe as any hunting scenario, but who cares, if you wanna kill stuff you gotta put the lead out.

No way in HELL. Think about it..Bang...Flop...now he is dead where he stands.
The rock would be way to slippery with my sh*t once I went to retrieve him.
