Time to start having a look around 3-13 as have a moose draw there (first time for moose), any recommendations for places to camp? Taking truck & tent so access for a trailer not an issue. Thanks.

There are BCFS campsites at the top end and bottom end of Murray Lake if you're hunting that side of the Coq. The hosers have cut down a lot of live standing trees and made a mess at the north camp site, but there's lots of room. There are sites at Gillis Lake too if you're interested in that area.

murray lake has alot nicer sites then gillis lake, gillis has no flat sites, there alway lily lake to but i don't know what the moose are like around there. i'll would say camp at murray lake and hunt around debbie lake, i all way see the most sign around there. i think i'm going in there at the end of sept begging of oct and try and call in some bull for fun.
good luck,.

Appreciate the camping tip - and of course where to look for the moose too. Will have some time for hiking there July & Aug to get to know the terrain / habitat more - first time moose hunting, am stoked.

Sarg, if you come across a cow, tie her to a tree for me will you.

Went through the area quickly some time ago when camping around Davis Lake and fishing by Elkhart lake, looked good, saw bear, deer and moose while fishing but nada during GOS. Will scout in July & Aug. to look for some likely places. Wife mentioned something about the amount of meet my kids consume and she is expecting a freezer full so need to do better this year...

Saw these guys probably all within 10km of each other - GPS info likely in the data.

I had a doe draw there last fall and despite seeing deer and moose in June do you think I could see a deer there in the fall? Four trips there for nada.

MichelD - same, where do you figure they went? Seemed pretty warm, perhaps higher elevation?
