itchy finger with grouses

some areas at least region 3 deer hunting starts sept 1st but grouse hunting starts sept. 10..
i don;t really can see real reason why they both can,t start sept.1st.?.
it,s really frustrating to see grouses all over and can,t shoot..
of coarse people,who are only deer hunting dont,t care,but i,m sure there are many hunters espec. young ones who wants to shoot grouse too..

Wet spring grouse #'s in region 3 willl likely suck anyway. I did like the the seaons when I started hunting You had a week of grouse season before deer opened.

Well another discussion for the MNR to resolve. But living here in Region 5, I hunt Region 3 as a regular as I hunt region region 5 and find the area has a lot of hunters and I see less birds each year. So the season starting after deer season has my blessing and gives the fledglings time to grow another two weeks before the shooting begins. I also like the 4 spike season in Region 5 for the start of Sept, as it gives the young deer to to wise up to all the road hunters.

Better hunting grouse after the cold drives them down from the hills and covey up.
