Interesting expression on that one, kind of sinister looking. Don't think he is trustworthy. Nice piece of work.

That's what i get too.
It's like in about 1/10th of a second, it'll be curling its lip and barring its teeth. A lot of energy seems to be captured within the mount... It's not mine but I wish it were.

Never thought of mounting one of the many wolves I've shot.

Maybe I should.

Ive never shot a wolf but have considered it. Are black wolves like this common? is there a specific region that they appear in more so than others?
id love to get a mount like this done up.

Out of the 30 or so wolves I've seen in rgoin 3 at least 2/3 of them were black. Some were black with a red spot

I've only ever stumbled on one and it was greyish brown in colour.
IIRC the #1 Wolf in the BC Book is black - look it up, theres a pic of the full body mount and it's flippin' HUGE.

 WOWZA

LOL! Most people actually think it is a bear of some kind until they have a good look. Then the reaction is always much as yours!

Weighed in well over 200 pounds, MUCH larger than the Island (Perry) Caribou he was terrorizing with his pack! Wasn't much into the score thing, left the skull with the carcass out on the tundra. Kinda wish I hadn't now...

Cheers,
Nog

Of the many years I lived in the Arctic, and the many wolves I took back then (both Timber & Arctic) this was the best. He was huge with a grand hide. Sold them all back then, and considered doing so with this guy. Even had one buyer go over a thousand in his bid, but decided it was entirely unlikely that I'd ever see another of this quality, so took the leap, kept him and had him professionally rug-mounted. Very happy I did so, and he will of course remain with me forever.

Cheers!
