Does anybody here have any experience using the Backroads GPS Maps specifically with a Garmin GPSMap 60 CSX? I have that GPS unit and am interested in finding out how well it works with that software. On the Backroads Maps website it states that it should work on that unit, but some texts displayed may be truncated. What have you found?

I currently use Topo Canada, but have heard that Backroads GPS Maps have quite a bit more detail.

Thanks.

It depends on what you use your GPS for? I had the chance to borrow a friends chip but didn't find it $150 better than TopoCanada. At least not for what I use my GPS for. If I had a new unit and no maps then I'd go that route, but I don't need both.

I have that setup. Good detail and easy to use. I had TopoCanada but it was out dated, perhaps not fair to compare. I bought the Backroads SD card on sale thru their website and you can still get it for 119.95

I just got the version 2 for my gpsmap 60csx from The Hermit (Vantage Point Outfitters) for $119 shipped. And Ive been out in the bush a few times with it and find it great, it has so much info, trails, roads, lake info. Its great, well worth it. PM the hermit. He has a great deal.

I've had it on that same unit for 2 years now. The best! shows all the old small trails that the book can't get close enough to show. Worth every cent!

Yep it's great for me and I have had both the CDN topo and BC Backroads.

I have it on my Nuvi 550.
Shows the MU units as well.
Great if you are getting close to crossing over.
Worth buying if you can purchase for a brown one or so.

Far more detail. I have both for my truck GPS (Garmin 255W), no comparison between the two. LR

Awsome combination. I have one, and our S.A.R. team uses them exclusively. You'll veever regret it if you go that route.
