Who's hunted, camped, fished, hiked, travelled, boated, timber cruised this area in the passed or heard the tales? I heard it's rough country to hunt but hey, as long as theres moose, deer and bear. Can you give any knowledge about the country and what to expect when you see it. What I'm really wandering about is," The Hole In the Wall " Not the Cafe' Altho I could stop for bacon and yeggs. I heard about it way back years ago and wanted to experience the sight. Is it a hole in the rocks or something like that? Jel-hole-in-the-walls?

The cafe burned to the ground about 2-3 weeks ago.

I heard a fella who comes up from Chilliwack, saying that there are some big bucks up by some power lines or roads etc on Mt McClennan 1676 meters high. Good muley bucks up there according to the Fraser valley hunter who hunted MU 3-40 lots can I get a witness? Jel-on-Mt-McClennan? Anyone? Is there a power line or towers on that mountain? Go ahead.

You need Google Earth there buddy.

You are just one of them guys trying to take pressure off from up there and cant get any attention anywhere so you come up on here and tell all these guys BS about things. I dont know about you but im getting fed up with all this internet crap and you.

The power lines cut across the base of that particular hill less than a click up the main road. As far as the hunting there, it gets hit pretty hard by the locals as well as the visitors because it's so easy to find.

Jellyroll,
You must be extremely bored as of late digging up all these threads from years ago. Why don't you get off your ass and get away from the puter and get out in the great outdoors. ;) You know shed season is still on and the bruins are now starting to chase the first green.

But since you asked for a Nobelquartz buck, here's one my son killed last year, right above the house.

Here's a pic of a giant McClennan Mtn buck from the weekend. It's easy to tell that he'll push the 240 mark when he's done growing.

Interesting Limestone theory. But You want big Nontypical racks??? The Uranium deposits of Foghorn is where it's at. Just don't eat the meat.

You need to get your areas sorted out there Jelly. Foghorn is not near Fennel. It is in Birch Island. I stare at it out my back window. It's the hill where all the protests have been going on to stop the Uranium Mine. Was a big battle back in the 70's and a big battle just recently.

jell..I could hunt a lifetime in one MU and miss plenty still...this spring while lookin for dogs I stumbled upon a long waterfall....come out of knowhere it seemed. plenty of talus canyons..crossed 5 of these deep talus canyons in a very short span of walking...Tom had killed deer in the bottom of one...climbed out of it along side the waterfall and came to a small beaver pond....that creek has several beaver ponds on it.
Lived here 13 years never knew it was there....dogs were on the other side ole bruin had wore them down....
Heard an old indian saying....."better to know know one mountain than to climb many".....still working on knowing one.

You by far are the greatest fishermen of them all. But how come you can't transfer that fishing skill over to hunting. You knew where Vinny was and yet you didn't get him. Now he's hanging on someone elses wall.

Jellyroll,
U should have left the building this fall like you did in past falls. I'm surprised u are still here spoutin your BS instead of hitting the hills hunting your ass off. What's up? You givin up your passion to chase the Rocky Ridge Monsters and instead gone soft sittin on your butt in front of the keyboard? Too bad you didn't get out there and kill the Louis Creek Louey or the Mclure Cranker. You let them slip right out of your hands and now they are hanging on someone elses wall. Cowboy up and get er done. You only have a few weeks left.

Jelvis. The hole in the wall got it's name from the trail that went through from the North Thompson to the Raft. After going up the old cattle trail on the highway side, it was like walking into a dark cold hole, as you went up the stream bed to the hight of land, and down the other side untill you broke out into the 1913 burn. Dad would ride up on one of our work horses and break trail, if he could, at the end of May, and we would drive the cattle through a little later. After the slaughter of moose at Stratton Creek in 1960, when the road was pushed through for fire fighting, there were hardly any moose left. Now the bare hills are completely covered in timber. I know the area quite well, having lived there from 1939 to 1994.

You would rather play on the internet and work out at the gym than hunt for the Legend of the Rocky Bluffs Son??? Say it ain't so man. Sounds like we need to have an intervention. Time for the Kammy Muley Boys to come and kick your ass out the door and up the mountain???? Dude, I'm really saddened by this. It breaks my heart to hear that you've given up and have your ass firmly glued in front of the monitor. Too bad. Too too bad.
