Not much of a story behind this hunt. Was driving down the road and saw this bear a couple hundred yards away with his ass end going over the hill. Thought that was it for that bear until we were on our way back an hour later and saw it standing in the exact same area with a mouthfull of grass. Fortunetly I spotted him before he could see us or hear us so I found a good rest took a couple breaths and hit him with a 180g Barnes MRX. He spun around twice ran down hill out of sight so I left him alone for 30 minutes. When I finally walked up on him he was laying behind a tree 40 feet from where I shot him, shows how far they can run with their heart blown out. Not the biggest bear(5 feet) but I am looking forward to some sausage and making a lifesize out of him. (Taken on May 28th at 7:15 pm)

Nice bear, congrats. I just shot a color phase this afternoon at 6:30. It is also around the 5 foot mark. I'll try and post a pic when I get the camera shots off of my friends digital as I was smart and forgot mine.

Good bear you got there.... great shooting. It's true; a very well placed shot on a Blackie and they're down in a few paces. No suffering, quick and easy. He was likely running only on adrenaline.
