on the pic with the horses, the black bundle of joy on the left is a bear! we had a fantastic experience with Tred, the crew,Doug and his family, and who could forget Montoya,Mike, Bernie and the hounds. the hunt was undescribable, and the friends i made were awesome. the scenery was spectacular and the food was delicious!
PS. that chair can go anywhere!

Great photos! It's fantastic to know that people with disabilities can get out hunting with amazing technology and with whom I can only guess, great friends.

I am curious if it is required to wear camo to stick a bear stuck in a tree? Must be a show biz/advertising thing for sure. I found this thread to be entertaining. Thanks.

You don't see a thread like this everyday. Very good to see hunting carrying on despite the obstacles life can throw.

All the best clothing now adays is camo, but the crew always wear camo so they blend into the surroundings for head to head shooting. The idea was to try a spot and stalk given the right setup. Tred just enjoyed the dogs so much he decided to keep using them. You could not wipe the smile off his face when the dogs struck hard.

Tred Barta is a class guy, of the sort they don't make anymore. Had the distinct pleasure of meeting Tred several times and they don't come any better than him. Hi's an inspiration for many people in the way how he just carries on with life and doing what he loves doing regardless of his recently suffered disability.

I am sure you and Mark had a lifetime experience hunting with Tred, everyone does when they meet him in person.

Great thread. Great photos. That chair of Tred's is wicked. I have a watched quite a few of his shows and read quite a bit about him. Mostly the fishing side of things and all the great stuff you does on the East Coast with kid's etc. His presence at the Oregon Tuna Classic was awesome.

Did he have any good one liners? or good outlooks on life?

I'm assuming they were shooting a show. That would be cool to see.

We did film the show, its the opener for the fall season I think. the show is only shown on Versus, I don't think we will see it in Canada. I told Tred that and he was surprised to hear that. NBC bought Versus so maybe this will change. I just received last years DVD of the show we did. Those boys really put it together, they have top notch techs from beginning to end. This year should trump last years, I hope.

I bought the first and second seasons of the shows through 3 Rivers Archery. I like the guy. I like his outlook on life and hard work etc.

Maybe some folks with satellite can get it?

Great thread. Just one question... when hunting with dogs, what's the point of the camo and face paint?

Its great to see a guy still hunting even when it is so much more of challenge for him. Its great to see the chair pictures it might inspire some more people to get into the woods.
Thanks for posting the great pictures.

Its called making a hunting show!!!!
Archery no less.
Most people dress in camo from head to toe for a day of road hunting!

Funny you should ask that.....I did roll it ass over tea-kettle (on film too) while unloading it from my truck in a hurry!
Was darn near tragic, but I managed to save both myself and the chair from injury!
(if it had a clutch, I would of done wheelies  )

Carson and I nicknamed that chair "Johnny 5" for those that ever watched "short circuit"! LOL :-D
