Take a trip down to Coralanes or Backcountry and start there. Several sheep on the wall some heavy some not some dark some light. aging sheep is tough even tougher in the field. Light colored horns are easier than dark. I would offer but no sheep for me:mrgreen:

If it is your first trip for sheep I would not shoot a squeaker on age, If he is broomed heavey then yes but to try and pull 8 years on a ram that may or may not make it
is not fair to the ram. Keep looking til you find one that is legal without a doubt in your mind and you will be much happier in the end.

Phone Peter at Rocky Mountain Taxidermy out in Pouce, he has lots of sheep horns laying around that he uses for teaching the core program, at least he did when my boy took core. He is always willing to help out new Sheep hunters.
