The wolf was killed about 100 km north of fort nelson out in the oil patch country.i never killed it,a friend did. i don't know if soaking it is considered drying but i think the go by the 60 day period, not sure i never killed anything big enough to cosidered scoring

IIRC, because you soaked it, it is now not allowed to be considered book eligable.... (?)

Where does it say that??? It only has to air dry for 60 days after it is cleaned.

So although the skull sat and dried for 4-5 years, it still had meat on it. Regardless of how long it soaked to get the meat off, the 60 days does not start until after it came out of the soaking bath and clean.

You might be right... I'm not working with a rule book and am only going on memory. Which is why I stated; IIRC and did this; (?).
No skin off my noodle either way.

Hunter7413,

The 60 day drying periods starts after you took it out of the water AND cleaned all the flesh off if it. We don't need the lower jaw, only the skull to measure it.

Go to the link above for further information the BC Records and to find a measurer near you.
Also, you can go to this link as we post our measurers contact info online and each Boone and Crockett measurer is also authorized to measure for British Columbia Records book. http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgRecords/records_omlist.asp?area=bgRecords

And yes, there is no problem with you soaking the skull. It only resets the drying period on you.
