I know it's been brought up before, but I can't find the thread....
I've noticed for quite some time now, that there are always more "Quests" than Members on-line every time I log in. I don't mind individuals checking out a forum, but it seems a lot more than that. Lately, there has been a great deal of info volunteered from Members regarding hunting and fishing spots, and how best to do it. When I give out specific information, I realize anyone can read it, but it is meant for my fellow Members. So, to those of you that habitually lurk, it doesn't cost anything to sign up and become part of this Forum community, and then, maybe, you to, can also offer some advice, share your experiences, give back a little, rather then just take. Cheers!

there are plenty of folks that dont want to be known on here because they are not exactly ethical yet they glean info .
They lurk and have names that are removed from the identity on other sites. Its pretty funny and sad at the same time.

Try logging out and see what you see. Marc has closed most of the site for guest so they have to join the site to view....

It does not really matter as anyone can register under a fake name then never proceed to post or contribute in any way and they could see everything that other members do.

They can't see this message, as it is in the Mainland Hunting forum, and you need to be logged in to view it. :)

Big Lew,

Thats why you post the hows and PM the where's. Who cares if someone learns how its best to do something, It is probably a good thing. If you want to tell someone where to go just PM them. And if someone posts one of your spots oh well.

A hunter doing reaserch will find out what they need to know.

I guess I fall under the category of lurking. I did so for a long time before signing up. Not because I'm unethical or out of disrespect, but because I like to read and learn or enjoy looking at the photos people have decided to share, rather than voicing an opinion. Actually what first promted me to join was wanting to view the for sale section, since I was in the market for a scope at that time. I'm signed up to a number of forums and just don't get the time to contribute. But as Gatehouse pointed out, you need to log in to open the threads now (for about a month or so I think). Probably a good idea since it only takes a moment to do so, no big deal.

I lurked for a few years and eventually joined in. I do not post very often but always find the information and conversation on this site useful. I check the site daily and think that lurkers do offer value in the future when they join and offer opinions and information. As for the poor sportmasnship and unethical actions I am not sure.

Posts with "guest" under their name means that they have been nuked as a spammer or deleted upon request. Some people get thier knickers in an uproar and want to "storm out of the room" so ask to be deleted. They usually sign back in under a different name, or end up lurking.

It's funny, because these guys will throw a hissy fit, leave, and then I can see them viewing the site every day. :)

What makes it double funny is that these are grown men having a tantrum because they didn't' like what someone said to them on the internet. :)

835: That pretty much sums it up. Good pic.

I saw a guy logged in as GUEST the other day, and a member name underneath it. Had something to do with another name for wolverines, IIRC :-)

Heres another: http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee271/mellonhead75/ethugs.jpg

Anyway, back on topic, could we put a big STICKY somewhere welcoming them all to join for free, so they can participate instead of lurk?

devilbear was an exception. No hissy fit. Just decided he could use his time more productively than on HBC. Asked me to delete him so I did.

Some people like to sit back and watch what everyone's doing, then criticize there every move! No matter what there watching or reading, they can do it better! Or so they think! Everyone knows the guy that simply knows everything, it doesn't matter what the subject, he's been there, and done it better than anyone else! When, in actual fact the only thing there good at is running there mouths!!! I love the guys that get tougher with every drink, there belly's hanging over there pants so far they can't see there dick, yet they sit there, swilling booze and telling anyone that'll listen how they can shit kick George St. Pierre!!! Then they get on the Computer, click on HBC and laugh at everything they read, because they can do it better! So, all you Lurkers out there, I know who you are and where you live, so tell us where your Honey Holes are, or expect a visit from the HBC Goon Squad!!! We'll make you talk!!!

I also lurked for quite a while before I joined the forum. I also joined to gain access to the exchange forums. Some of us mostly just like to read and learn(or giggle).

I signed up, but mostly keep quiet, as I feel more is learned by listening. Like Thumper said in "Bambi", If you can't say anything nice, shut the F*** up. At least I think that's what he said, I haven't watched the movie since I was young.
If I thought my opinion needed to be aired in public, I guess I could wave it around.

Everyone learns from others from b4 them and at their tale end, then head on from there, making their own hunting experience a reality. This makes them realize it's fun when hunting is done legally and safely.
Play the hunting game by and within the rules provided or please take up knitting, or golfing.
Information is great on the information Hwy, now it's the Sea to Skyway .. by foot lol.
Information is like eating roast chicken, you eat what you want and throw the rest out.
Confucious say, if you play, you pay .. Informer .. Snow ..
Jel.. Play jer eyes .. 4 yor I's Only .. Bond .. James Bond .. 007

Thank for the joke eastkoot, funny thing I've got the tee shirt. My first recipe is on a clam cooking thread... A guy walked into the local welfare offiice to pick up his cheque. He marched staight up to the counter and said,"Hi. You know......, I just HATE dra.wing welfare. I'd rather have a job." The social worker said excellent timing,we just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur and bodygaurd for his beautiful daughter. You'll have to drive his Mercedes Benz CL,and he will supply all of your clothes. "Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. Yo'll also be expected to escort the daughter on overseas holiday trips. This is rather awkward to say but you will have as part of your job asignment to satisfy her sexual drive." The guy, just wide eyed, said, " You're bullshittin' me!' The social worker said."Yeah, well.......You started it."
