When I was a kid I found a big ol' knarly muley shed in Region 8, up the Greystokes just above St. Margarettes. Had a buddy that picked one up just below timberline in Region 3. Was a 190 mainframe buck with several extras including a couple droppers. So, yup, the big boys sometimes stay high if the weather allows them.

I have shed hunted the island for a lot of years , the highest i will go is a spot i call the heli block it is about 2500 to 3500 ft.I believe the bucks slip down to these elevations or lower to get away from mother natures wrath up high. But i do believe the big old loner bucks hardly ever come off their peaks. My shed count for this year was 21.

I find most mine around 2,500-3,000' on the Island.
Biggest is a 120 - 125" matching BT set.

I have found many moose and caribou sheds at over 5000' while sheep hunting. The elk are at about 3000' and the deer sheds I find are normally below that. Moose can be found at any elevation and I also found a caribou shed down low near Hudson Hope one time at about 2500'.

I have found several mulie sheds above timberline in one particular range. Wind and proximety to "traditional" winter range is unique at this particular spot.

Nice shed I love the picture with the rifle on it. It looks like something you would see at Barkerville or some museum.

Over the years I've found a couple of these above treeline. A rare find in Region 3.

No muley sheds up near treeline, though have found many apparent kills, fresh and years old, up there.
