Could just be year to date as it's on a different cycle?

So resident hunters buy 495,000 tags, licenses, and draws a year, while non-residents buy 15,000. Tell me again why we should give GOABC all our game?

My math says 15,000/510,000 = 2.9%, which seems like a fair allocation of game resources to me.

Wow theres some positive trends in there, looks like residents are buying more licenses and there is strong interest in a variety of species

A couple of numbers stand out for me on the non-resident side......mule deer licenses down 45% and black bear licenses down 34% and both species aren't on quota.

GOABC-Try to blame that on the BCWF.(somehow they'll try)

Nice work GG!! Those are some positive stats, for sure!

Of course the GOABC will claim the non-resident numbers are down because they just dont have enough TAGS! :P
Good post GG. Think I'll print that out for my MLA
FD: Let's round up to 3%.....I'm feeling generous today.

One trend that concerns me a little is the junior resident license totals. Although the overall number of juniors is increasing, as a percentage of the whole, they have actually decreased. It's the young kids that we need to get out there and pass the torch to.

I think we're seeing a lot of young 'twenty somethings' and late teens becoming the new recruits. We just have to encourage them to procreate.

I think the Jr.'s means "Jr. Licence". Once a kid passes CORE he gets included in the big people's stat. IIRC CORE numbers have been way up the last few years.

I find the decline in non-resident mule deer tags rather interesting. Might have something to do with some popular American internet sites and magazines spilling the beans on how pathetic the BC Outfitters are at killing big deer. ;)
