went up monday afternoon for a ride with a buddy of mine that we hunt together every year for bears together. done a butt load of scouting and know where those *******s are. so we head up a forest service road along a raging river from the run off and think we see something about 125 yards down by the river. i grab the knocks and look and see nothing eyes clearly playing with me. on the way in on the main road i see a big furry rear running like the wind into the bush. nice black bear. anyway back to the river so buddy looks across the valley and sure as poop a big light chocolate was walking up the other side about 150 yards across but its about 125 yards down across a raging river and then if he didnt roll down you have a hike and three quaters. so i took out the camera and took about 4 shots at him and hit him all three times. he had a big black patch on his shoulders and was a great bear. i thought rather than shooting him and not being able to get him i would head back up this weekend and get him hopefully on my side or look where i can cross and get him out. i will see what i find this weekend and i hope to be going to the butcher before coming home. happy hunting to all and i will be back sunday night to let everyone know what i got

My roommate shot a nice chocolate out of the Skagit on her birthday this month. Good luck hunting and go get your bear !

Lots of chocolates there, I got one last year. My friend got a nice golden blond bear

we say a cinnimon bear up there 2 years ago and never got a shot but there are some nice bears up there and cant wait to get mine
