Nice Boar Down

[The Dawg]

Went for an evening drive tonight with my gf and came across this guy.

Found him eating on a patch of clover about 40 yards away. As the wind was in our favor, we watched him for about 2-3 minutes before I decided he was alone and big enough for what I wanted.

One shot from the 225G TTSX took out the heart and broke the opposite shoulder.

It is my first kill with my gf next to me. Super proud of her, she was right next to me as the shot dropped him. She was right in there up to her elbows helping gut . I think she had a bigger smile than I did.- She's now wanting to get her CORE :D

Took him to the taxidermist tonight and he was measured out at 6'3 with a big fat melon. Going to get him rugged, as the fur was thick with no rubs.

Nice looking bear and good to see the ladies getting out there too. So how far did it go with the heart being devastated like that. I shot one once and it went around 80 yards still.

Nice pic of the heart, makes me wish i took a picture of my deers liver after it got hit with a 160gr accubond moving at close to 3000fps, it took me several minutes to identify the soup that remained in the chest cavity. recovered the bullet though, matter of fact its sitting on my reloading table right now.

I was using my 338, and he spun around and didn't make it 6 feet before dropping.

I was in 7-24 as Brett said :)

As much as I dont have a problem with it. Read the forum guidelines. Rule number 15

15. No bloody shot up animals, organs or intrails in the forums or gallery. When taking pictures of your animals please try and pull it away from the gut pile before you start taking pictures.

I dont understand a rule about not showing internal organs on a hunting site where alot of the younger members could probably use some pointers on field dressing. I know we have to be carefull about offending people, but that seems like a big sacrifice. Anyways, congrats and too bad i missed the pics before they were pulled!
