A buddy and I have been chasing bears around with our archery gear for the last week, and decided to set up tonight where we saw a hog blackie last night.

Around 7:30 this guy trotted out at ~ 150yds, and I just so happened to have my trusty old triple reed diaphragm elk call in my pocket.

A few pup in distress kiyi's to get his attention, and a few more to get him coming a runnin'.

We were hunkered down well already, and my buddy ran range finder and at 27 yds stopped him long enough for me to send a Montec CS through his ribs.

Pretty cool evening!

those willie dogs are one of the toughest to get with a bow for sure, they usually book it big time at the slightest momvement, wait to go on reducing the wild dog population.

The first in field pictures with Kuiu gear. Great clothing isn't it! I love mine. Do you have Merino 185 or 250?

Probably the hardest animal to successfully harvest in BC and you get it done with archery gear. Awesome.

Congrats that is not an easy animal to take with a bow

how are the clothes

It's the merino 185, and so far I'm digging it as well as the pants.

Ordered the 250 to go over it on those chilly days, as well as the Spindrift jacket.

High quality clothing at a decent price, and I quite like the camo as it seems quite versatile, and perfectly suited for the mixed woods I hunt (and should be great above treeline too).

I took a book wolf while calling moose near Purden Lake outside of PG in 1991. Had a pack of at least 5 circling me for a while, got the dominate male and just missed the dominate female. By far the biggest thrill of 40yrs plus of hunting for me.

Excellent Job. I would take that opportunity over a blackie any day. And with a bow to boot. My hat is off to you for both calling it into bow range and making the shot.
