That hunt just about killed all of us . over 30 years chasing them long tails that was hardest one Ive ever been on . Then after 10 hours in wast deep snow alens dog locks me out of my truck .What a day.

Smart dog. After 10 hours plowing thru waist deep snow you probably stunk to high heaven and the dog figured you should ride in the back.......

I tryed to post back in Jan, but couldnt figure out how to shrink my pics! Just got around to it! Cat was taken in North Okanagan with the help of a my good buddy Shayne "the houndsman", Jamie Collins, their 5 dogs, Allan Crawford and one of his friends. The 2 cats took us 6 miles up a steep ravine in waist deep snow, dead falls and flowing water. Dogs must have had the female treed further up. Just happened to see the Tom in the tree! Couldnt get a full weight of the cat or length as we had to skin it on the spot. Guessed the weight at 190-200lbs. Scull measures a hair over 15 inches green. Will be just shy of the books im thinkin. Getting a full body mount... Harley said it should be done in 2 months $$$$$$! Thanx again all for the great hunt and Allan and Jamie for hiking the extra 2 or 3 miles! Shayne, next time make sure you have a damn spare key!!!! Cheers.
