View Full Version : Sukunka FSR
Anybody know the typical early fall conditions of the Sukunka fsr road off Hwy 29? I am wondering if I could get my small travel trailer back in there a ways.

You sure can. just watch out for all the trafic and if you dont have a radio dont go in with out one you will need radio freq 18a just for the first 18 km then it switches cant remember what its number is .

The first 16.5 km is the worst for traffic. If you wait at the start of the road you can follow a coal truck to 16.5, then they turn off on the Lower Burnt. Be sure to wait at 16.5 for a coal truck on your way out also. They haul 24/7.

I`ve worked in the bush 20 years and that road is the busiest I`ve ever seen and has many narrow spots along the river with river one side and bank the other.

I was just in there. The frequency changes to 10C at km 20. I don't think I would go in there without a radio. You couldn't follow anyone the way it is now. Way to dusty to stay close to them.

I'm not sure about now, but it still was in 2016.
I agree with those above, you need a radio and you will see other hunters. However, as always if you're willing to hike in far enough you can see good game. Also, it's a very heavy bear and wolf area so keep a clean camp/kill.
