any pros or cons about this sight. I was given a bow with a Trophy Ridge V5 sight, but one pin was broken off. I was wondering anyone knows much about it. It got some good reviews at Bass Pro Shop, etc... and it's only $64!! http://www.trophyridge.com/sights/hitman/

not this sight, but another one i used only for a couple of weeks during the hunting season had .019 and during the climbing, walking, hiking, freezing all the pins eventually broke, if possible go up in size if its for hunting, but for 3d it may be different as its generally a little warmer, open trails to walk on.

There's nothing wrong with .019" pins, the size is perfect for hunting and for 3D (at least for out to 40 yards). Cheap (inexpensive) fiber optic threads, on the other hand, will become brittle, may freeze, and will lose light transmission capability due to infrared sun light. Most sight makers do not use premium fiber optics. Trophy Ridge is one that does.

Why not just get a replacement pin for your V5? They are great sights, I've got one for myself and I really like it.

never thought about that Bow Walker...that would be the smart thing to do! Do most archery shops stock the pins or are they special order from TR? It's an V5 sight, composite, and was part of the bow that was given to me, in February...so all this is new to me.....maybe stay with the V5, but update to a new one.

I suspect that you could get replacement pin(s) through Wayne at Big Game out there - and if not, you can probably get them from Hardcore Archery, one of our sponsors here. I bet they'd mail one to you real quick.
