Anyone know where or how I could upload BC Park boundaries onto my GPS? I'm planning on doing some spring bear hunting here soon near one of the parks in the area and the last thing I need is to wander inside the park boundaries and gamble loosing my gun or a hefty fine.

Read the regulations regarding parks open to hunting. The majority are in NE BC.

I did, hence the post, 99.9% sure I can't hunt within this park.

Perhaps post what kind of GPS you have.

I have a Garmin Vista C, it's a little old so it will not accept micro SD cards but all in all it works great.

Can you source out a shape file (.shp) for the park boundary? If you can you can download the .shp file, you import it into a shareware program called DNR Garmin and use it to convert to a Garmin track file. After you have done that you can upload the boundary onto the GPS as a track. The only realy "hiccup" with this is that you can only have one track file visible on your map at a time or the GPS does funny things like draws lines inbetween the tracks, etc. You might be able to download a shape file from IMap (BC Gov't webmapping service). If you can't figure it out, PM me with Park name and I'll see what I can do to help you out. Good idea!

Which park are we talking about? Someone here might have specific information.

If you have Garmin's Mapsource program on your computer, I can email a track file of the park boundary. You could then upload the track to your GPS. It may not be dead on but it would be damn close.

Echo Lake Provincial Park is NOT open to hunting. Here's a link http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/echo_lk/

Now you're 100% sure.
