Turkey hunting in Grand Forks?

A friend wants to drive up to grand forks area to hunt turkeys this weekend, am I crazy to go for that far of a drive for the weekend or is it worth the trip? Were heading out from Chilliwack. I've never even seen a wild turkey never mind hunting them. Also we don't know the area at all but would like to do some exploring other than our back yard. Can any of you seasoned hunters offer any advice?

Leaving it to the last minute eh. There are turkeys but get prepared for a zoo.

Lots of turkeys in Grand Forks and Christian Lake. Also lots of hunters. Tip: Get off the road and go into the bush. Most hunters are to lazy to walk a mile or two and turkeys know that. :)
