I also have the 2200. I packed out a de-boned dall sheep( 55 lbs of meat), horns and cape plus all my hunting gear. It was tough but the pack worked well. The main compartment holds about 60 lbs max of meat.

I've got the smaller one which can barely hold my lunch lol. However i also invested in a well built frame pack from cabelas. I think i paid about $100 for it and last september i used it for the first time---unbelievably comfortable and easily packed out a full elk quarter and horns with no issues or pain at all...

I packed out my day gear plus an 85 lb elk quarter on the meat shelf with my 2200 and it worked great.

I have just got the Diablo for Christmas. Sure does feel nice, but i havent put it through the paces. Have a couple plans to go overnighter for Island Blacktails, gonna see if they fit!

I've had a Diablo for a three of seasons now. It works great - holds a lot of stuff. I haven't had to pack any meat out of the bush yet as I have been able to get the deer back to the truck without any trouble. I don't think the Diablo is designed for meat packing though, it has only the one main cargo 'pocket' and lots of smaller 'pockets'. Super day pack, though.

2800 was 130lbs filled with bear. The tuff part was getting it on my back. I weigh 160lbs 6'0"

I've got a 2200 and like it. Packed 1/2 ('ish) of a muley out with it last fall, and it would have been comfortable with more weight. I mostly just use it as a daypack and have other packframes for heavy loads, but the 2200 is nice for taking a first half decent size load out.

I was looking to pick up an ultra-day, but couldn't resist a deal on a hypervent. I haven't used it yet though.

I have a pack problem too.

I have a Superday just for hiking and I love that pack! Its compact but holds enough for me. My frame pack is an old camp trails.

I have a 2800, and an OX.

My 2800 can handle a deer sized critter & some gear without too much trouble. The OX can carry more than I'd be able to lift off the ground.

My cousin takes his 2200 guiding with him and has packed sheep and goats out with it. After 3 or 4 seasons od being overloaded and abused, the frame finally tore through the stitching, but getting it replaced was an non-issue.

Have the 4500 and SuperDay and Bino pack. Love them all. Excellent equipment with the exception of the Zipper pulls on the 4500 that went south but were easily replaced.

ive got a 2800. not totally sold on the small compartments. they are nice untill you shoot somthing. if you quarter it is probably fine. but one big compartment can be nice for meat. mine is very comfy. and it carried a California BH quite nice. ive had ofer 80lbs in it and caried it for 14 hrs staight. pack held up way better than my bleading feet and sore knees. I paid to much, $300-$350 I think about 6 years ago. Its a good pack built to last.

I have owned an older 2800 but after some straps broke and they sent me a brand new 2800 model, I sold it. Looked like a nice pack though, just was surplus to my needs as I had replaced the broken 2800 already. The Diablo is a great daypack but I decided to go with the Eberlestock X2 instead. I got an Ox last November, only had it out hunting a couple times but its a well made unit.

Badlands is good stuff, maybe not in the same league as Mystery Ranch and other high end custom packs, but they're pretty good, and great warranty

I bought what was probably the first Badlands pack in BC, or so Dylan, the manager back then thought and it was the original, made in the USA, 4500 model. This, was one of the very finest packs I have ever owned, used or even seen and the quality was outstanding. I got it in '96 and some vile creature stole it in a burglary of this house in Dec. '99 along with some more of my best gear.

I did not care for the next generation of these when I went to replace it and so went with a Bullpak, then two Kifarus and then several Mystery Ranch packs bought new and a couple of pre-owned original mint condition Bozeman-made Dana Design packs, the finest packs ever, IMO. I did buy a Badlands Monster Fanny pack for hunting on Texada and other places such as that, where I require only minimum emergency and hunting gear and I like it, good rig.

The best pack they have offered was their original 5800 model, made in the USA and, this is of similar design to the 2800, but, large enough for multiday trips. If, you find one that fits you, it is an excellent hunting pack and well worth paying top dollar for, as only MR is a bit better and nothing else I have seen is as solid, well-designed and practical.

Check out my gallery -and i'll try and add some more packing pics
