Thinking of using my savage gopher slayer .17 for my bird or maybe the hoyt !......hmmm ! Has anyone shot a turkey with 20grn's ? Will be setting up the tree stands and ground blinds soon !

400 grains from your Hoyt would be much better! Or a No. 6 shot turkey load from your 12 gauge. Don't think you can shoot a "country mile" with that .17... remember, there might be another hunter behind that turkey!... In completely full camo and sitting with decoys. Rim fires and turkeys make me nervous.

They tend to roost above shed antlers... find the sheds, find the turkeys!! Just kidding, of course, but most of the ridges you walk during your shed hunting trips will have turkeys.
