Any buckerfields store or any place that sells feed for horses will have lots of different feeds ,I found that the mix that has barley corn and oats in it worked the best for me..

straight whole barley works well. my wife feeds about 15 mule deer a day all winter in the backyard and the barley seems to be the grain of choice. they will eat oats as well but seem to prefer barley. we feed about 20 whitetails at the cabin as well and barley works great for them also.

Apples, to get them into the area. Then c.o.b soaked in liquid C'mere Deer for a few days.
Then dry the c.o.b out then put it in ur feeder. Salts and other minerals would be better for the spring, because where there is deer there is usually bears.
Winter is the best time to use food attractents!
