Well I went out and checked one of my favorite spots the other day and found the toms the wife and I will be going after for the Turkey contest. It looks like the birds are doing well and are still all grouped up.

I was going to head up tommorrow, I am going to be working in trail this week so going for a hike/scouting seems like a good way to kill time rather that sitting in the hotel.

Saw a flock of about 25 on March 28th feeding & scatching under a stand of pines where there was no snow left. Couple toms were strutting & fanning to each other, but the hens were all around them. Huh?

Nice flock. I am glad to see the turkey populations are thriving. Still it's a long way to go until we have flocks, as I had them on one of my Illinois leases, of 90 to 150 birds. But I am hopeful we will get there here too. :)

Ha. the wife and me first unless you end up on my team :)

I took one there with my bow before, it adds a whole nother level to turkey hunting. Might be easier with a pop up blind, have to give it a try.
