Hey, I'm from the island, might be heading up there in a couple weeks for some camping on the lake and some quading, wondering how the road up to the hot springs is Thanks Dan.

Most weekends it sees a fair bit of traffic, long weekends it's complete pandemonium. You'll be hard pressed to get away from people, the trick is to surround yourself with the sane people. At the end of the day, it's a still a gorgeous spot to pull up a stump.

it was pouring rain which probably made it less busy, but during the night a few people would drive by on quads ect. not to bad in the summer it is very busy and for the most part wherever u camp is right on the side of the fsr but it is very beautiful

So is there natural hotsprings outside the hotel pools that the public can use? How do you get to it?
Thanks

Check out a backroads map book, they are all in there. Sloquet's the best.

Go up the east side past the airstrip. On the right you'll see a logging road going into an old slash. At the back is the road that goes up to Clear Creek. There used to be a nice cabin with fiberglass tubs up there that the loggers put in. Then the assholes started partying up there, broken glass everywhere, garbage, wrecked the tubs and burnt down the cabin. It's been a few years since I was up there, so I can't tell you how it is now. The water is the perfect temp though. If you go, give us a reply.

I've found the backroads mapbook fishing data can be terribly out of date.

Cogburn creek hold some trout. Try to walk along the creek down streem close to lake. I had few good ones couple years back.... Clear creek hot spring is almost dump. Road has been improved and there all sorts of 2wd partying yahoo there. Tubes made that clean water comes to first one than that overflow to second tube and that overflow to third one... Well .. It is alright place to have little dip in offseason, otherwise place does not make sense/
