I have noticed that fog seriously affects fishing success.....how much affect do you think fog has on hunting success?? I've found that even sound travels differently in heavy fog....some big game animals don't seem to be too bothered buy it from my experience....although predators seem to just appear in heavy fog???

Hunting when the fog is heavy can provide for some interesting experiences........

I have had good times in the fog. Seems to me, stuff move around more when it is foggy.

Not much one to like fog myself.
I have been up places here on the island when it rolled in and had to do some serious thinking to get out.

I did however sneak up to a bachlor herd of spikes to 4pts once in Creston. Went up the hill in the fog, was about to abort and go back when it lifted. Looked into the hole and saw 6-7 deer. The 4pt steped out and BLAMMO! trouble was at my shot The biggest 5x5 i have ever laid eyes on stood up 75 yds from me. DAMN! shot the small one.

Don't trust the binos in the fog, everything looks bigger..... (there is little to reference size with)

Gotta say I dislike fog bigtime. Seems the hills and valleys I frequent are just big enough that a little fog ruins all glassing.

On the other hand I love storms. It's so fun being out there watching the spooked animals making all sorts of mistakes and moving during the daylight...

Not a fan of it. When critters can't see they rely on other senses and it puts them on high alert. It does make most camo patterns highly effective though.

That's an awesome bull in that pic.....I think because of the fog he doesn't even know you are sitting there in your boat.  Advantageous for both sides.

I find that if it is foggy on the island you need to get into the timber and it clears up. Not sure why but step into the timber and you can see a lot farther.

It's just so cool when the fog lifts and there are deer all over the place..caught in the open!! And you can usually walk right up to them if they don't scent you.....

This is one of my favorite photo's. I think I am going to get it blown up to put over my fireplace. The fog was so thick you couldn't see 2 feet in front of you until you got into the trees.

That picture was taken within half a km of where I took my 4 point last year and also where my wife took her big 3 point. Both of those are at the taxi's. I figure it will be cool to blow that pic up and put it over the fireplace with both mounts on either side, taken from those woods.

I never have found that fishing has had any effect when it is foggy I have found that hunting in the fog for animals it cuts your visiblity down you have to get close to see animals in the fog there still there just harder to find..

About sums it up.

I hunted some extreme fog here one morning this past season which turned into most of the day...the benefit being it is normally a busy area and every one went home early because they couldn't see and I had it all to myself :-D

I tracked down a small group of whitetails in the fog but only could see 50 yards and never saw the buck I knew was in the group...later that day I came upon a cow moose and calf in a wetland...it took me a while to make out that it was just that, a cow with a calf, after moving in closer. As a result went home with meat that day!

A friend of mine was out hunting along side of a small lake when it was foggy, he heard a fishing boat engine not to far off the shoreline and could see the outline of the boat and man in it. Few minutes later, no sounds from the boat except bullets whizzing by his head.... Fog is dangerous to shoot in unless you are 110% certain of you target and its beyond.

Yeah that is wicked photo. Coming from a photographers view, If you ever get the chance to take another photo like this one, go to the edge of the trees, where the fog starts to get think and snap one down the line showing both sides. Fog|Trees = Epic :-D Just my thoughts, fog is wicked.
