When I caped out my elk, I found a cougar tooth that had broken off & grown into his forehead! There is a hole in his skull under his left antler where the tooth was at one time lodged-untill it came out and traveled under the skin to its resting spot. We took a cougar skull and positioned it around the elks head and the conclusion was -that the elk had shed his antlers when the attack had happened. It"s a cougar's upper right canine- The tooth had fully grown into his skull. Bridged on both sides by bone! =like a tree with barbed wire grown into it ! I'll try and add some pics !
Got one on here how can I add another ?
This is a pretty cool find.

On a cougar skull I did for a friend we found 2 cougar teeth holes in through the eye socket. It's possibly a bear but I think only another cougar could catch it. About cougar size holes too. Maybe he'll post up a picture.

I thought that I had found the same thing on my Rosie in 09 but on closer inspection it was the very tip on a broken tine about one inch long and grown into the head

I found an antler tip in the forehead of a bull I shot in 1996. It was encased in scar tissue.

Hey budy welcome to the kootenays I did it in a european mount nose resting on the floor rack reaching for the ceiling ! Looks deadly with the dark antlers contrasted by the white skull ! And the smile my friends and I get when we pick it up for a fondle !

What about the poor cougar. With a broken tooth every time it sucks in air it's a new adventure in pain, not to mention drinking cold water.

That is so rare and very interesting to think of the battle that created it being there.

That's cool! I found a 270 bullet in the hump of moose I harvested many years ago. It had callous around it. I suspect it was a long shot by an inexperienced hunter and it only wounded the animal, although it recovered from it all right... until the moose walked in front of my scope!!
