had an opportunity at the tradex this weekend to pick up a rem 700 sps in stainless synthetic bnib for 550 plus taxes , or the tikka t3 stainless synthetic for 850. turned em down. gambling on finding one at the hacs show in abbotsford next weekend. it seems most people ask way too much for their used rifles after looking at those deals right there. what do you think , should i have pulled the trigger on those p[rices??

T3 is a good deal at about $500:-D

Lots of good deals out there with used and barely used, the key is to know your pricing, and in these days of intraweb, it's easy.

the t3 wasnt 500 , it was 850 bnib. are you saying i should expect to russle up a used t3 for 500.00?? thats way below my previuously set expectations.

As a comparison I bought a Rem 700 BDL stainless in great cond, 2 stocks rings dies and brass for $650 just last year.
Buckwheats 7-08 T3 blued with rings dies and some brass I got for $550.
Good deals are out there, but you need to look often and act fast when the screamers show up.

Stevens is a no frills Savage, blued/synthetic. Like all Savages, they shoot like a hot damn. Excellent economy rifles.

I think 550 was good for the remington. Your buddies would have made fun of you for buying one though.

the T3 wasn't a great price, not really. The 700 sounds like it was a fair deal for sure. As far as the Stevens is concerned, if you want an awful trigger, terrible stock, and a hockey puck recoil pad, go ahead, as they do shoot great for the money. Personally I hate them, one of the worst factory triggers out there (which is very surprising considering how good the Savage Accutrigger is), stock does nothing to soak up recoil. Basically it's a good starter action if you're going semi custom, otherwise blah.

Really though, if you want used rifles, CGN is the place to look. And you're right, some guys think their rifles are worth way too much, but some do sell for a fair price, and when they come along, move fast like Dave said.
