I went to the local park today, there were two full plumage and three hybrid drakes. they were scared a little more than the resident mallards. i got some pics, i couldnt use the good camera due to rain:

They are not hard to identify if you look closely. There are always at least 2 to 3 that stay in Beacon Hill Park in Victoria every winter. The females are very difficult to identify. I was walking my dogs in the park the other day and say a drake paired with a female and it was the first time that I was able to really see the difference between the females. If I was hunting and shot a female I doubt that I could properly identify her. Who knows, I may have already done that.

if you look on the underside of the wings, euros will have spots while americans have white.
