Tumbler Rigde Elk moose hunting???

I was wondering about the rut for both species? Also on how the game has reacted to the fires up there any info would be great thanks

ive posted before the areas i like to go to there are being torn up for pipelines, lots of work goin on in there so im leaving it for a few years but you can always find somewhere to hunt out there. i dont really know how a big fire will affect game in nearby areas. as for the rut on elk you're probably lookin around the 20th of sept. give or take 6 days. ive heard them calling into october but doubt theyd come to calls at that time

The elk will start bugling the end of august...well into the heavy rut the third week of sept...the moose will sometimes start up the last week or so of sept and respond to calling. Just like MHunter we are giving the area a rest..just way too much activity with the pipelines etc.

I've also had both species fired right up at the end of October in that country too.
