Have you ever heard or used this tecnique for steelhead or salmon? I was looking for some info about fishing in Washington and they were talking about drifting rags vs. wool. Well curiosity got the best of me so I googled it and I found out it is a piece of small diameter float material which is threaded onto the leader with a small bead above the hook. Thru the float material you thread some wool thrun the sides. It would work good for flossing sockeye I think. I did something similar a couple of years ago when I put some wool thru an egg loop and a foam earplug onto the leader for sockeye. It worked good. Here is a pic,

Sounds like to much work for socks small piece of wool and big hook works easier but use it on the vedder now that works for steelies I have used them in small sizes and use with sent
