That's kind of cool, why did you block out the number on the band?

You would need the whole number to report it and I'd doubt you'd be able to see the rest of the numbers on the back of his leg in the picture.

Tell your dad to stop being so paranoid.

Do they still actively band geese and ducks or are we just cleaning up the final ones from awhile ago? I know they used them to track migration routes but i dont see any more scientific reason for them to continue banding migratory birds

This aint CSI. No way of other people reporting it with only a couple of the numbers visible.

Congrats though. Lucky, lucky

Yes theres still lots of on going projects. Alot more are using satalite backpacks or implants but those still cost alot each one.

Theres goose banding and collaring projects in alot of states on city geese. Park ones that dont live, or migrate short distances. That way they can find how many are shot, but also can be used for hunters who target them and help with the city park geese problems.

Seaducks have seen some banding projects through Wa and BC. As do goldeneye up in a certian area of BC.

Ruger#1.. Click on File, Save As, then jpeg on the dropdown menu. You can then post the jpeg.

It is interesting to see where all the birds come from for sure. Haven't had a goose other than a blue in Manitoba, but we've had several ducks.
