Well I know you have probably all felt this way before too. Had a long boring week and been waiting and waiting for the chance to go hunting. Well that is how I felt this week and was lucking enough to head out and have a great day.
What a beautiful morning slightly frosty, clear and a beautiful big moon to see by.
I woke up before my 430 alarm got geared up and headed out to meet Field Marshal and Duffy. They took me to a new farm Field and it was a great spot. Beautiful rolling hills good spots for the blind and great visibility you could see the geese coming in a mile away.
We got all set up and waited for the fun to begin. Things were a little slow we had one single fly by high and a lot of swans flying around. Then things started to change we nailed a couple then a couple more. Then I had a pair circle around me and I got my first double on geese. Nothing like the sound of BANG BANG flop flop. :-D
Well the geese continued to come in. Two of the ones we had shot landed in a pond. We counted up our geese and we had 9 and it was just past 9:00am We waited and waited for our 10th but it just didn't happen. Nothing came close enough.
It was time for Duff to earn his keep and get those geese in the pond.
We took Duff up to the pond which had ice on it and he made his Papa proud jumped in broke through the ice and retrieved those geese. Duff's first water retrieve on geese. That sure made me happy as well as that water looked pretty darn cold!

What a great day, Thanks!
Cheers Naes
