just figured i would start one for the upcomeing 2011 season:mrgreen: perhaps a sticky might be in order and people can offer tips or advice on the MU

this is the latest

Hello

]Unfortunately, the draw is not yet complete. We are hard at work and are hoping to get results out for sometime later this week. If you are checking online for results, it won’t take very long once the draw is run to get the results online. When they are ready, the website will update to say that the 2011 Limited Entry Draw for Spring Grizzly and Early Sheep is now run and you may check your results using your hunter number. Until the draw is done there will be no link to input your hunter number.

with any luck they should be out in the next little bit

You wanted advice - leave the jetboat at home.

The best grizzly hunting is without a jet boat in 7-02. Bring quads, snowshoes and pack frames.

Barracuda

no road access to many productive areas from what i understood .

I have a ds mc not a quad and snow shows i can cover.

should make for a good trip and some nice fishing hopefully too.

Nope leave it at home, there isn't alot of water that time of year and if there is its muddy, so fishing sucks.

So how do access the 'productive' areas  Certainly not by boat if its the upper Kinbasket within 7-02. There are no 'slide' areas like the southern part of Kinbasket Lake in Region 4 that guys use boats to hunt.

My next advice is if you really want to use a jet boat for grizzly hunting Kinbasket Lake, put in for 4-37

There are a few valleys with road access with great grizzly slides to hunt where you run a machine as far as you can then use snowshoes if required in 7-02 and the outfitter does really well in these places.

Barracuda
02-28-2011, 12:42 PM
not useing it to hunt just a means to get there then use the twin black caddillacs for the rest.

i got the 4-40 draw last year and missed out this year. Some awesome hunting over there. we have a barge boat that we used to get our quads over there. Unfortunetly we were just a little to early last year and there was still a substancial amount of snow. Some awesome area to hunt though. There are still 4 more of my buddies that dont know if they got it yet. So I am probably going to end up back there anyways this year helping my buddies out trying to wack a griz. There are some MASSIVE blackies back there as well. Good luck on getting your grizz!

Thanks! I picked up a 16 foot Hewescraft last summer that included both the jet and a prop. From what I've heard, I'm going to want the jet on for this hunt.

No Draw here....NIL!!!!! Apparently we have no grizzly bears in the East Koots  Some more hikers and trains will kill a few grizz this year to put a finish to our grizzly bear population ,then we can put them on the endangered list with the wolves. Ohh well the black bears are going to PAY!!!
