Got this guy last week in the Chilcotin region of B.C. http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/images/smilies/sHa_shakeshout.gif 135 lbs with an empty belly. We cut the track at about 8:30 a.m. and let the dogs out on it. Had him in the tree at about 11:30 a.m. He jumped before we got there and got in a battle with the dogs on the ground, one had him by the back leg and two were trying to get it by the throat. A couple of the hounds got scratched up, but nothing serious. Beautiful cat. I shot him with my dad's 30/30.

That's what we figured, but the scale seemed accurate. We thought he'd be at least 150 lbs when he hit the ground.

Good job helping out the deer. are you gonna get it to a taxi for some work done? They always look bigger this time of year with winter fur. Have you ever tried the meat? I had it once, years before I got my cat so I was as excited to get it to the butcher as I was the taxiderist's.

I dropped it off at the taxidermist yesterday. I'm thinking of doing a full mount. I've never tried the meat.

They have had a dish done up with cougar a time or two at our F&G banquet and it is actually pretty good.

Great pic with the dogs - retrievers, hounds doesn't matter - nothing better than seeing them do what they were intended to do. Love that pic.
