Good Start

Got out Sat. morning with the hopes of getting a goose for dinner on Sunday and turned out I got 4. Passed on a pair that were maybe, maybe not in range. Three cleaned up nicely with hardly a pellet hole, but the fourth one I counldn't even pull a feather out of it so it's going into jerky. Over all a good morning hope to get a few more. Who else got out?

We got into the birds on the opener on the Island. I'm amazed that there hasn't been more reports of birds taken.

Good on you for holding out on the questionable range, there are lots of birds out there but none deserve a long and painful death because of low percentage shots.

I hear you on the tough birds, out of the 10 we got that morning only 3 or 4 were able to be plucked. I've made burgers out of mine and I think Shotgun John is making sausage out of his.

We have 2 feilds down here littered. Both of them are off limits (no hunting). Other wise there isnt much around....

Good on yah for holding out on the longshot and well done with 4 in the truck!

303 and my self finished up 90 pounds of duck and goose pepperonis a few weeks back. Although id like to get out and kill a honker, it wont hurt my feelings if i dont get out either.

Yep, on both accounts. Our spring geese always sit in two noshoot fields aswell. Its the same year in and year out, just gotta live with it.

Though I could of setup on geese this weekend, had a couple fields with around 30 birds but didnt feel it was worth it. Plus aint hurting in the pepperoni sticks department and I dont fancy shooting alot of honkers so they get a pass most of the times during spring season. Blast the family groups come sept when we get fired up :mrgreen:
